On Tuesday, Mass Solidarity Movement Chief Coordinator Jonayed Saki and Executive Coordinator Abul Hasan Rubel said in a joint statement that the incident of an Air Force training plane crashing at Milestone School on Monday is a terrible tragedy. They express deep sorrow to the victims in this incident and sincere condolences to their family members. The statement said that this is a moment of crisis for the entire nation. If evidence of negligence or irresponsibility is found after a thorough investigation of the incident, immediate action will be taken against them. The initiative that was needed on the part of the government to handle such a heartbreaking situation is showing a deficiency.

Mass Solidarity Movement also expressed dissatisfaction with the way the government has shown lack of coordination over the postponement of the HSC exam. They also expressed concern over the CCTV footage of a man being beaten up in the presence of joint forces in Mirpur.

The party leaders said that the government must act with utmost restraint and responsibility in dealing with the situation. The students’ anger must be properly assessed and effective initiatives must be taken quickly.

At the same time, the party leaders warned that the people must be vigilant and alert so that no one can create instability in the country by diverting this incident to other sectors.

The statement further said that now, in this moment of emergency, the government should mobilize all its forces and stand by the families of the injured and deceased. Joint steps must be taken to deal with this crisis by holding discussions with all political parties and student organizations.

The Mass Solidarity Movement believes that, ‘In this critical moment, the unity of the people is the greatest strength. If we are united, we can overcome any crisis.’
